Canada’s Capital City is transformed into a sea of springtime colors when 3 Million Tulips burst into bloom.  You’ll be treated to a narrated cruise on the Rideau Canal to Dow Lake to see the beautiful beds of tulips planted along the shore. 

Your hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Byward Market with many wonderful restaurants and boutiques and only 2 blocks from several of the city’s museums and the famed Notre Dame Cathedral.  Parliament Hill and Major’s Hill Park are short walks from your hotel.

Our local guide will take us to all the important sites of this very special Capital City including a walk around Parliament Hill, Canada’s seat of government and a drive along Sussex Drive to see the Prime Minister’s home and stroll the beautiful grounds of Rideau Hall, residence of the Governor General.  We will see the newest and most visited museum in all of Canada, The Museum of Civilization, which features 1,000 years of Canadian history for a look at the largest indoor collection of totem poles.

 No trip to Ottawa is complete without a visit to Casino du Lac-Leamy ! 

You’ll have plenty of time to shop (US Dollar buys more in Canada!!!) and enjoy the many museums and points of interest during a full day at leisure Day 3 to explore this world-class city at your own pace.  Or, join us on an Optional Steam Train Trip.

 Optional Half-Day Steam Train Excursion Day 3 – Ride along the beautiful and historic Gatineau River aboard one of Canada’s last authentic 1907 steam-powered trains.   The trip is fully narrated by local guides in period costume with roving musicians providing live music throughout the trip  You’ll enjoy a guided tour of the picturesque village of Wakefield and time for lunch (on own) and strolling the quaint streets before re-boarding the train for the journey home.
